Variant Limits in PrntFlow

PrntFlow supports products with up to 100 variants per apply operation.

What is a variant?

In Shopify, a variant is a unique combination of product options. For example, a t-shirt with 6 colors and 7 sizes has 42 variants.

Why is there a limit?

PrntFlow generates and uploads a unique mockup image for each color in your template. Each mockup is then assigned to the matching variants in Shopify. For products with very high variant counts, this process approaches Shopify's API limits. The 100 variant cap keeps the process reliable and fast for all merchants.

What if my product exceeds 100 variants?

You have a few options:

  • • Reduce the number of sizes or colors on the product in Shopify before applying mockups
  • • Split the product into two separate Shopify products (e.g. one per colorway)
  • Contact support if you need help with a specific situation

Typical POD variant counts

Most print-on-demand products fall well within the limit. A typical setup — 6 colors × 7 sizes — produces 42 variants, comfortably under the cap.

Billing and Cancellation

Shopify App Billing

All billing is handled via Shopify's app billing system. Your subscription charge appears on your regular Shopify invoice alongside your store plan and other app charges. You don't need to manage payments separately—everything is billed through Shopify.

Cancellation

You can cancel your PrntFlow subscription anytime from your Shopify admin. There are no contracts, no cancellation fees, and no penalties. If you cancel during your free trial, you won't be charged.

If You Uninstall or Cancel

When you uninstall PrntFlow or cancel your subscription:

  • • Your existing mockup images in Shopify remain; PrntFlow does not remove them.
  • • Variant assignments remain intact; your product pages continue to show the mockups PrntFlow generated.
  • • You lose the ability to generate new mockups or edit templates through PrntFlow - but everything already in Shopify stays exactly as-is.
